Food and Drink Industry Benefits of Standards

Improve has developed various suites of Standards, which aim to set a benchmark for skills and knowledge in the food and drink industry.

Both employers and learners benefit as specific suites of Standards provide achievable goals in each occupational area. This gives companies the opportunity to run their business more effectively.

Standards can save time and money by ensuring that the right person is recruited first time, and that current employees get the support and development they need to contribute to the company's success.

Through mapping job roles to Standards, employers and learners can use them to help with achieving nationally recognised Qualifications, such as the Improve Proficiency Qualifications (IPQs), Improve Vocational Qualifications (IVQs), and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs), that Improve is currently developing.

Employers will benefit from this use of Standards, as it will contribute to the upskilling of the workforce and learners will have a clear career progression route.
