They have been structured around units of competence directly derived from Improve’s Sector Performance Standards or National Occupational Standards (NOS).
N/SVQs are available at Level 1 (entry) to Level 3 (supervisory/technical), there is also a managerial Level 4 NVQ in Meat & Poultry.
The new N/SVQ framework was approved and launched in summer 2007. The new framework provides a single qualification with a flexible pathway, designed to enable employers to build a tailored qualification in Food Manufacture.
