Improve’s Occupational and Functional Map scopes the size and significance of the food and drink industry, whilst also identifying and discussing skills-related issues and trends.
Offering a breakdown of the various occupations in the industry, the map also provides an insight into the issues that influence these job roles including recruitment and industry trends. As well as this, the map provides a detailed breakdown of the functions required to carry out the wide range of these occupational roles. Once these functions have been identified they are then mapped to the Standards we have developed.
Given the importance of this document, here at Improve we continue to work closely with employers throughout the food and drink industry. It is important that employers work closely with Improve so that new and emerging occupations, as well as trends and skills issues can be captured. This understanding will then inform the development of both Standards and Qualifications.
