Improve-Skills
The UK food and drink manufacturing industry is a world leader
Following successful relicensing in October 2009, Improve is now the Sector Skills Council for Food and Drink Manufacturing and Associated Supply Chains.
We have recently launched new Qualifications and Standards sections on this website. Here you will find information about the new families of Improve Proficiency Qualifications (IPQs) and Improve Vocational Qualifications (IVQs), as well as Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) and Standards.
You can have your say on the development work Improve is doing through visiting the consultation areas in the Qualifications and Standards sections.
Amongst its achievements, Improve has delivered for the UK food and drink sector:
Sector Skills Agreement - providing an industry action plan to deliver key skills.
Qualifications Framework - providing the qualifications and training required to meet skills needs.
National Skills Academy - providing the platform for delivery.
Put simply, it is Improve’s vision to deliver ‘World class skills for a world class sector.’
The Skills Pledge is a voluntary, public commitment to support all employees
The purpose is to ensure that all staff are skilled, competent and able to make a full contribution to the success of the company/organisation.
The Pledge can be given by the Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officer, owner/manager or other Board member, on behalf of the organisation.
It is a corporate commitment covering the whole company/organisation.
